A Christian Orthodox nun holds a candle as she waits to walk along the Via Dolorosa in the old city of Jerusalem, commemorating the death and the resurrection of Virgin Mary - walking from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to the Tomb of Mary in Gethsemane

Every year, Christian Orthodox nuns and priests walk in procession along the Via Dolorosa in the old city of Jerusalem, commemorating the death and the resurrection of the

Virgin Mary. Running from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to the Tomb of Mary in Gethsemane, the Via Dolorosa is believed to be the same path that Jesus walked on his way to his crucifixion.
